Top Management Team Nationality Diversity and Firm Performance: A Multilevel Study
This study examines the relationship between nationality diversity in top management teams and firm performance. Integrating upper echelons theory with institutional theory, the authors develop a multilevel framework showing that nationality diversity is positively associated with performance. This relationship is stronger for longer-tenured management teams, more highly internationalized firms, and firms operating in resource-rich environments.
